Quick cards w/ Ange

Quick cards are the way to go in my book. I want them to look like they took a lot of time, but be fairly simple. I think one of the best ways to do that is to use pp for your background. The problem with that is making sure the inside works to write a little note to the recipient.

For this card I wanted to use the PL style notecard, from Telegraph Road by Kaisercraft, on the front and decided it would look great over the Memo paper, so I made that the background.

Of course that makes for a really busy inside, but the cool part is that it looks like postcards. So I grabbed a couple mini postcards from the die-cut shapes pack, inked them and added them to the inside for writing on.

For this one I used a plain white background but spruced it up with some mists and ink. Then layer your pattern paper with this cute journaling card and some flower die-cuts, add your sentiment and voila, 2 quick and easy cards!

You can find this beautiful line in the Speedy Scrappers store.

Let's Travel w/ Ange

 Hey there Speedy Scrappers!
Hope you're having a fabulous Friday. I am totally ready for the weekend! A little bit of fun and relaxation sounds perfect right about now.

Today I'm working with Kaisercrafts Now Boarding line.

They have this fun 12x12 Round die-cut, Compass, that I decided to try out. I used it as my base, then added a piece of Cabin Crew along with a barcode strip and journaling card cutouts from Sail & Lounge. With all of that down I added a bit of misting.

I used a border punch on the edge of the Snap Shot journaling card.

Then I layered lots of stickers after inking their edges.

And of course my title/journaling. This photo is just a fun one from a camping trip, but I think it worked great to tell a little story about the guy I want to travel the world with.

You can find this line in the Speedy Scrappers store. Then come share what you make with us on the facebook page!

Thanks for stopping by!

My lil' cuties lo w/ Ange

 Hello my Speedy Scrapper friends!
I hope you've had a lovely week and are gearing up for a fabulous weekend.
Today I have a bit of fun in my layout for you:

I've used Kaisercrafts Party Animals line for this layout. The pictures are of my oldest and youngest riding the ferris wheel at our local carnival. As you can see they were being a bit goofy and just having a lot of fun. Great moment to document!

I used the B side of Jive for my background, then cut a strip from Yippie for down the left side and the cute little lion out for the bottom right. I didn't want my photos to fit top to bottom, so I trimmed them down just a bit so I would have a little bit of room to play with their angles.

The strip of stars was the backside of a barcode and I cut the quote out of the Bop! paper.
I inked everything with black to make it pop even more and then darkened the already printed stitching on the alphas with a pen.

You can find this adorable line at the Speedy Scrappers store.
Don't forget to show us what you create on facebook.
Thanks! :)Ange

Where to? w/ Ange

A simple question really, but so many possibilities.
Kaisercrafts now Boarding collection, found here, is a fantastic traveling line, but that's not all.

I thought this would be the perfect line to let my daughter know that hard work pays off.

I layered 3 different pattern papers with lots of ink and distressing. I also fussy cut the luggage out so I could slip the photo under a cover the edge a bit to highlight my daughter better.

Don't be afraid to use those barcode strips and cut elements out of the papers. Then layer some stickers and wording and you're ready to go.

Have a safe trip!

Hello cards w/ Ange

What's up Friday?!
The last Friday of August, I don't believe it! It's also my baby boy's 5th birthday!! He is growing up way too fast.
I have a couple cards for you today using Telegraph Road from Kaisercraft. You can find it in the Speedy Scrappers store. One of them I did make into a birthday card for my mom, but they are both really general on the front, so you can do whatever you wish when you're ready to send them.

First up:

This is the one I turned into a birthday card. I started with a white cardstock base. Then I used the 4x6 pocket page card from Receive on the front and took one of the 3x4 ones from Parcel and cut out just the "Hello Sunshine" portion of it to add as a sentiment. I rounded a couple of the opposing corners before sliding it under the portion of the flowers that I fussy cut, so they would sit on top. Then finished up with some clear stickles. Inside I just added a Happy Birthday sentiment with a stamp and then wrote in it.

Next up:

For this one I started with a white cardstock base then added Letter to it after punching the borders. I then used another 3x4 card from Receive to add over the top along with the Hello banner and a couple of Irocks from Imaginisce to glitz it up a bit. Add your sentiment inside and you're ready to mail!

Have a scrappy weekend my friends!

The Plane w/ Ange

 Hello, Speedy Scrapper friends!
I hope you've had a great week (and hoping we survived our first week of school!).
Today I have a bit of travel fun for you, using the Now Boarding line from Kaisercraft:

I used the right side of this sketch from Nuts About Sketches:

I love sketches! They are just a great way to really jump start your creativity. You can stick really close to it or change up anything to fit your needs.

Since the sketch allowed for journaling and title on the left side I had to find a place for them in my layout. I only had 2 vertically oriented photos so it worked great for me to add my journaling there. I was going to place my title there also but decided to go with a spot along the top instead.

It fit great along the tops of my photos next to the cute little stickers I added for embellishment.

The sketch called for a decorative strip and some banners in the middle, which was the part I really loved. I thought these fun banner stickers would be perfect to hang off my strip, which is the backside of the barcode strip of Terminal, my base paper.

Do you have some vacation pictures to scrap? Come pick up this great line from the Speedy Scrappers store and show us your pages on facebook.

Happy Scrapping!

Two cards w/ Ange

Hello and Happy Friday!
This is our last weekend before school starts up. I can't believe that, technically, summer is a weekend away from being over. Crazy. Well, I plan to go party it up a bit at our local fair before my kids head back and we get into the regular grind.
Before I take off tho, I've got a couple cards for you:

I used Kaisercrafts Telegraph Road from Speedy Scrappers for both of these, they are 4.25x5.5. For this first one I inked the base with a bright pink, then used a loopy border/corner punch on a scrap of Letter pattern paper, layered a couple die-cuts, stickers and this easy sticker sentiment.

I wanted a different look for this one so I used weathered wood ink, it has a bit of a blue cast to it that I liked. Then I put the border sticker across the top, just trim it down to the size you need. After that I found a scrap of the pink Message paper and punched the corners. I didn't like it straight on the card, so I cut a piece of Memo to back it with and rounded the corners. Then I layered the stickers, die-cuts and sentiments but finished up with some bling across the top.

If you get some scrappy time this weekend, come show us what you're up to on the Speedy Scrappers facebook page.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Moment layout w/ Ange

Hello Speedy Scrappers! I hope you're enjoying some beautiful summer days in your area. We've had some heavy down pours here lately but I'm really enjoying it because we tend to be quite hot and dry this time of year normally.
Today I have a beautiful photo I took of my daughter a couple years ago on a hike we took:

I used the lovely Telegraph Road line from Kaisercraft. I started with the Notes paper as my base. It's so lovely that you almost want to just stick your photo down and be done with the page. I think you definitely could, but I added some paper strips from Memo and Message.

Then I got busy layering a barcode strip along with some ribbons. I also used a corner punch on the Message paper and a couple of the washi looking stickers from the sticker sheet.

I backed my photo with Letter after using the corner punch and a border punch on it. Then wrapped it with some twine and hid some flowers and journaling behind it. For my journaling card I used one of the ledger die-cuts, cut this tag from the sticker sheet apart to add to it with the tab at the top and then added the moment sticker.
I finished up by adding some little flowers from my stash in the lower corner of the photo, layered the Better Laughing die-cut and little heart sticker. As usual, I inked all of my edges. I used black this time because I knew it would really make everything pop.

You can find this line in the store. We would love to have you share your projects with us on the facebook page!
Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Love layout w/ Ange

Hello my fellow Speedy Scrappers
Can you believe we are in August already? I can't, I'm a bit in shock to be honest.
But there are still plenty of warm sunny days left to spend with your loved ones. Here's a layout with a couple of just those kinds of photos:

I used the Telegraph Road line from Kaisercraft that you can find in the store. It is just gorgeous! and perfect for these sweet photos of my girls "ambushing" their Dad with a kiss. So sweet!

I started with the backside of Telegram and then added bits of Message and Memo, along with the barcode strip from Telegram. Love when those strips are useable! I also added the diamond stickers from the sticker sheet.

I used a leftover cut out from my paper strip at the top along with the fun die-cut word shapes and this fun heart sticker.

You can see that I inked everything I could in a nice blue to go with all that awesome blue sky in my photos. Then I finished up with more layered die-cuts, stickers and a bit of journaling. The "this makes me happy" and "remember this moment" die-cuts were originally tags, but I just cut them down to fit my needs. Go ahead and cut it up!
Have a great Friday!

Party Animals w/ Ange

Party Animals in the house!!!
Happy Friday, Speedy Scrappers!
Today I have a fun party layout for you:

This wild scene was my son's 10th birthday party. These kids had so much fun and I'm still here, so I must have survived it. ;)
I used the adorable Kaisercrafts Party Animals collection. You can find it in the the Speedy Scrappers store.

I started with a sketch from Nuts About Sketches & kraft cardstock. Then started cutting the pps to add.

These little animals were really fun to cut out of the Yippie paper to add to my layout.

For the banner I used foam adhesive to give it the fun dimension.

We'd love for you to share what you do with this line with us on the facebook page. See you soon! :)Ange

Toddler Motto w/ Ange

Have you been playing hard this summer?
My family has been extremely busy. It's been fun, but man is it flying by.

Today I have a fun layout using this adorable line from Kaisercraft called Party Animals. I just fell in love with these papers when I saw them! The cutest prints in great colors!! Here's my layout:

I used the Hooray paper as my background. I love papers like this because they really just take all the work out of a layout. All you have to do is add photos and spruce things up a bit if you want and you have a fun layout.

My inspiration for this layout was this fun quote from the Bop! paper. My youngest son is always breaking the rules and pushing the limits, so it didn't take me long to find some fun photos of him to pair up with this cute quote.
Then I used my notebook edge punch on the quote card and my photos. I did some inking, fussy cut the monkey's tail to be above my photo and added some glitter alphas for my title. Then finished up with some fun cork stars.

Run into the Speedy Scrappers store and pick this line up, you will LOVE it!
Happy Scrapping! :)Ange

Mad Hatter w/ Ange

Hey there Speedy Scrappers!
It's the last Friday in the first half of the year. I can't believe how fast this year is going.

Today I'm going back a bit to Halloween. This particular year my daughter decided to go as the Mad Hatter. I was super impressed. I love it when my kids come up with their own costumes instead of doing store bought. They look SO much better.

For this layout I used Kaisercraft's The Looking Glass line that you can find in the store. Of course this line was the perfect fit for these photos and I went with this Tweedle Dum paper as my base. I cut the barcode off, flipped it and glued it back to the bottom of the layout for the cool border along the bottom. Then I layered bits of Mad Hatter and Alice before adding my photos.

I cut along the left side of the Time balloon to slip the edge of the paper and photo under. Then added my title, stickers and journaling along with a little bit of purple inking.

Swing by the Speedy Scrappers store and grab this line, then jump onto the facebook page and show us what you've made!
I hope you have a scrappy weekend!

Child's Play w/ Ange

 Happy Friday everyone!
Got some big plans for the weekend? There is a lot of softball on my agenda. Sometimes it gets a bit hectic getting everyone where they need to be when they need to be there, but I sure do love watching my kids play ball!
A bit of backyard ball is great too, even if it involves a much bigger ball. lol I just love watching the kids run and play.

I used the Moxxie Child's Play line for this layout. It was perfect! I actually started with the 'playground pals' sticker and went from there. I picked out a sketch from Nuts About sketches and some photos and went to work.
I used a lot of the stickers and diecuts from the line and just a bit of pp.

I love all the options you have with these die-cuts and stickers. I used this 12x12 border die-cut under my banner title by cutting it down a bit and then took the leftover piece and cut the little beach balls out for more accents on my layout.
Go ahead and cut it, you will love the results!

Pick up this awesome line from the store and show us what you create on the facebook page.
Happy Scrapping!

Sleepy boyz w/ Ange

Hello!
It's Friday! Yay, weekend ahead. What are you up to this weekend?
I think we will be getting some family time and celebrating some of the great dads in our lives.

This layout just happens to be about one of them, my husband:

I used the Little Boy Blue collection from Crate Paper that you can find in the store, along with a sketch from Nuts About sketches.

I cut the yellow chevron pattern out to add bits under my photo and also tore a circle from it to add to the top of my layout. Then I added a border strip sticker and a little bit of washi tape over the top of that.

I really like the look of the different blue pattern papers layered on top of each other. This darker blue had a strong pattern, but when you use it in pieces over the other pattern it works really well.

Pick up this Crate Paper line in the store and then come share with us on the facebook page. We'd love to see what you create!!

4H Camp Buddies w/ Ange

Have you checked out the Wanderlust line from Studio Calico in the store yet? Hurry up and get in there and buy it! It is SO awesome! I swear there is not a single paper in this line I don't love. Check out what I did for today's project:

Awesome right? I can't tell you how much I love these colors and papers! So fun!! And perfect for this photo of my daughter and her friends posing for a photo before heading off to camp last summer.

I started with a sketch from Nuts About Sketches and framed the polka-dot paper with the fun yellow and white pp. I used black ink on my edges to really help the patterns stand out against each other.

Then I found a big bold alpha to use for my title and edged the letters in black also.

After that it was all about embellishing and journaling. I tend to forget an area for journaling when doing my own layouts, so it's handy to have a sketch now and then to make a spot for me. This fun black and clear washi tape I added was a cool touch.

If you haven't already, go now, and get this awesome line in the Speedy Scrappers store! Then come share your cool creations with us on the facebook page.
Happy Scrappin'
