Wings Sneak peek

Wings Sneak peek

I decided to give you a sneak peak at a piece that I'm working on for a canvas.  I used the 2 of the wings from Genuinely Jane Studios Angel Wing album. They album can be found here to purchase http://www.genuinelyjanestudios.com/newsite/cubecart/index.php?_a=product&product_id=44 or if you live local, stop by Speedy Scrappers to get an album.

I added modeling paste to give my two wings texture.
After it dried, I painted them with black, white and a shimmer.
I can't wait to get them added to my canvas.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

Shine Bright

Shine Bright Canvas
Supplies used:
> 8x10 canvas
> sheet music
> Mod Podge
> assorted paint brushes
> Gelatos
> assorted acrylic paints
> Julie Nutting Mixed Media Doll Stamp by Prima
> Dylan Reaveley Quintessential Quotes stamps by Ranger
> Dylan Reaveley Acrylic Journal Block
> Dylan Reaveley Dylusions Spray Cherry Pie
> extra heavy paper
> old sewing patterns
The first step was to place the music paper onto the canvas.  I did this using Mod Podge. After that dried, I added my acrylic paints.  I did a wash.  (Mixed the paint with a little water).
The next step was to add the doodling on the edge.  I used Dyan Reaveley Acrylic Journal Block to make the edge with a black marker.  I then filled in boxes and dotted with paint.
On a sheet of extra heavy paper I drew the circle for the sun and the rays.  I also used an acrylic paint wash to color these as well.  The sun and the rays were adhered with Mod Podge.
The words were stamped next on to the above background.  The background was made using a piece of an old sewing pattern adhered with Mod Podge to one of the extra heavy sheets of paper.  It was then sprayed with Cherry Pie Dylusions spray and the words stamped onto it. The quote was then cut apart and adhered to the canvas.
One of the last pieces was using the Julie Nutting Mixed Media Doll Stamp. I stamped her on one of the extra sheets of heavy paper with black ink and the cut her out.  I used Faber Castell Gelatos to color her in. These work great for this because once they dry, they no longer react with water. I used an old sewing pattern to make the bottom of the dress with a little touch of glimmer paint. She was the adhered to the canvas.
When all put together, this is how it turned out.
