Father by Kathy

Today we have a great layout by in house designer Kathy.
She used the "Up, up and away" collection by Kaiser Craft for good portion of the layout.
Kathy added some embellishment from the Crate Paper line "DIY" and handmade flowers and leaves.
She used her die cut machine to cut the letter.

Hello, it's Joan, here to share a card I made. I love the gorgeous "Tea Break" papers from Kaisercraft! I think the background paper with the roses is so pretty on it's own, that I kept the rest of the card fairly simple. I added a die cut doily (from the green paper), a smaller white doily and then the yellow die cut label with the edges inked brown. I extended the doilies above the top of the card. Finally, I added a wood veneer heart. The card is 6"x4.5" (white cardstock).

Kaisercraft's "Tea Break" collection is one that I think everyone will want in their stash! You can buy it at the Speedy Scrappers store.

Tropical thank you card by Jen T.

Hi all, happy Tuesday!! Jen T. here. Are you enjoying the summer weather? I am!  The first thing I  thought of when I looked at this paper by Kaisercraft is a tropical vacation with me laying on a hammock under the palm trees sipping a pina colada  .. (Ok my daydream is over..lol!) but isn't it amazing how a pattern on paper can do that! So inspiring! With that as inspiration,  I made a 6 x 6 gatefold thank you card using the Paridiso collection. Hope I inspired you to make a  tropical card today.

Hello! 

It's Friday! Yay, weekend ahead. What are you up to this weekend?

I think we will be getting some family time and celebrating some of the great dads in our lives.

This layout just happens to be about one of them, my husband:

I used the Little Boy Blue collection from Crate Paper that you can find in the store, along with a sketch from Nuts About sketches.

 I cut the yellow chevron pattern out to add bits under my photo and also tore a circle from it to add to the top of my layout. Then I added a border strip sticker and a little bit of washi tape over the top of that.

I really like the look of the different blue pattern papers layered on top of each other. This darker blue had a strong pattern, but when you use it in pieces over the other pattern it works really well.

Father/Daughter Dance

Hi, it's Joan with a scrapbook page of my daughter and my husband. Last June, my daughter got married. Since it's almost Father's Day, I made a layout with a photo of their father/daughter dance. The song they danced to was "It Won't Be Like This For Long" by Darius Rucker. Such a true song - her father and I can't believe our daughter is a married woman - the years went by so fast.

For this layout, I used the "Forever Family" collection by Moxxie. I started with the brown "Father" paper, cutting it slightly smaller than an 8.5"x11" piece of white cardstock. I attached that piece to the cardstock and then a piece of the yellow paper, sized 5"x7".

Everything I used on this page is Moxxie (except the white doily). The heart was punched from the green Moxxie paper, the die cut sayings were pop dotted and the die cut scalloped border was attached over the yellow paper.

Hi all, happy tuesday, jen t here. I hope today gets your crafty mojo flowing! I have to admit this last week ,my mojo had been lacking, so when that happens i take out some basics and play. this week i played with my watercolor markers and authentique paper. The authentique paper is so thick that it was perfect to hold it's shape up to the moisture. So, the black and white floral print just called to me to color it. First, i cut my paper down the middle and folded it in half to make two 6x 6 cards. the one that had the flowers in the middle i used . I then decided i wanted a border so i trimmed a lil bit off the sides and backed it with a piece of the ombre black/gray paper . I then colored the flowers and leaves in the middle leaving the rest uncolored and room for more embellishing .Then i diecut a frame and layered on the oval diecut,added the letter stickers and butterfly i made. Next i added pearl dots and ribbon. Lastly, i added a bit of pink ink along the edges to bring the color around the card.

Hey there Speedy Scrappers!

I have a pretty card for you today that I made mostly with scraps. Remember these previous projects?

Using scraps from both of these projects I came up with this:

The card base is the leftover piece from the inside of the layout frame. I trimmed it to 8x8 before folding it for this card, then punched the corners and inked the edges. The border that the wording is sitting on is actually the barcode piece from the top of this paper. This particular line has a hole in the middle of it for the stores to hang the pad from, but I just used half of the strip so that didn't matter. I border punched it and inked it too.

Then I cut a circle out of a piece of this pretty pattern leftover from the cards I made. Then I just tore the circle around in a spiral, layered them back in on themselves and smooshed them flat. The layers slid a bit to one side so I just fussed with it until I liked the look then put a few glue dots under it here and there to hold everything in place.

 Finish up with some buttons and banners and you've got yourself a nice gift card.

Has your honey been spending some of these beautiful Spring Days getting greasy in the garage? Maybe a little treat will get his/her attention. Yeah, girls get grungy too, dontcha know?

I followed the directions here to cut and assemble the wrench. I actually put the box on backwards, so the bag of nuts would come out the bottom. It's designed to hold a number of candy bars.

I used KaiserCraft paper for the top layer and added a strip to the top and bottom. I doodled with a Signo Pen and inked with a London Fog Dew Drop Memento Dye Ink Pad to add a little interest.

The "Let's Monkey Around" was created using the AM Pleasant font and Silhouette Pens in my Cameo.

I added some nuts rolled up in a resealable bag.

Happy Father's Day

Hello, it's Joan and this week I made a Father's Day card. The paper line I used was "Forever Family" by Moxxie. The finished card size is 5"x7". First, I cut the yellow paper slightly smaller than the brown card base and inked the edges. Next, I stamped "Happy Father's Day" (stamp by Stampabilities) onto the orange paper and layered it to a piece of the green paper. The banner pieces were from the sheet of die cuts that match this paper line. (There are words on the backs of the banners - Family, Resemblance and Like Mother, Like Daughter - so you have a choice in how you want to use them.) I cut the banners to 2.5", 3.25" and 3.5" and pop dotted them to the card. Then I added a few small metal gears (Tim Holtz) and a wood veneer heart (Studio Calico).

You can get these Moxxie papers at the Speedy Scrappers store. The "Forever Family" collection has great patterned papers and is wonderful for cards and also scrapbook layouts!

Hi all, Jen t. here. Happy Tuesday!  I am having alot of fun using the authentique classique collection for my recent projects! Did you get your collection yet? make sure you get it in store at speedy scrappers before they are gone! Today I am sharing with you a card I made using the collection and a bunch of my punches. I first, cut a 6 x12 piece of the lace-look paper then folded it in half to make a 6 x 6 card and added black ink lightly around the edges. Then I cut the black and turquoise paper and used my edge punch and adhered it to the base. Then, I layered two diecuts using popdots in between for dimension and spelled out happy birthday on top with the little alphas. Next, I used my XL flower punch and layered the flower with my butterfly punch for the middle.(tip-by layering and staggering the butterfly punched pieces it made a cool flower center-think out of the box with your tools). Lastly, I layered all the pieces together and secured it with a sparkle brad in the middle, added some punched leaves and a lil bird perched on top and wallah!  Have a great day and happy creating!
